Biography
Katherine (Katie) Frye is the daughter of Matthew and Nancy Roberts. She was raised in the far northern suburbs of Illinois. Katie is one of four children. From a very young age, the value of education was something her parents emphasized. There was a saying in their home, " No one can ever take your education away from you, it is something you will carry with you your entire life."
Katie graduated from Marian Central Catholic High School in 2003 and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science Degree from Illinois State University in Social Sciences (2007). With this degree she would then complete her student teaching and move onto teaching high school Social Sciences. Katie spent 8 years teaching at her Alma Mater Marian Central Catholic H.S. She taught Economics, United States History and Government. She was also the head of the Academic Resource Department. As a private school, they are not required by law to accommodate students with IEP's or 504's, however in order to ensure all students reac their full potential and received an exceptional education, Katie was committed to accomodating students who had such plans.

Katie also served in a variety of advisory roles for students during her teaching tenure.

Katie is married to her husband Tom of 9 years. They have four children: Isabella(7), Olivia(5), Thomas(3) and Lila(16months). They live in Mill Creek and their children attend Fabyan Elementary.
Committed to change in our district and community, Katherine Frye has set her standards high, and will not stop fighting until a proper balance has been reached.

Talking Points

I am seeking a position as a board member on the School Board within District 304. With my education background I hope to bring my creative skills and experience to the district and contribute in a positive and influential way.
I am a passionate individual willing to take initiative and demonstrate professionalism. I have excellent work ethic and ability to coordinate multiple tasks.
My Goals For School Board
1) SWOT ANALYSIS: Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats.
(WHO: Board, Teachers, Community)
2) VISION: It must be DEFINED, (Who are we? What do we stand for? Where are we going? How will we be leaders/continue to be leaders in education?)
3) Board interactions with teachers: Communication, face to face contact, visiting our schools.
4) Positive and open communication with community: Proper and factual information provided to constituents will allow for more productive decision making.
5) Maintaining Fiscal Responsibility but also working to ensure we are providing a QUALITY education to our STUDENTS.
